The primary goal of the Steelworks Archives is to help students, researchers, and genealogists conduct research both within our facility and online. We have thousands of employee records spanning over one hundred years of CF&I’s history, so there is a good chance that we have the information that many CF&I Family Historians are looking for. We also have thousands of historic maps and drawings from across Southern Colorado (as well as some from New Mexico and Utah), over a hundred thousand photographs, and over 6,000 boxes of paper records that deal with mining activities, administration, financials, and the company’s extensive land and water resources.
If you would like to request information from our archives, please fill out the form below and we will attempt to locate the documents you are looking for. From there we can schedule an appointment for you to come in, or we can provide certain records to you by mail, email, or through a cloud service such as Dropbox or Google Drive. We do not charge for this initial inquiry, but please seer our fees page for the cost of additional services.
